What is holistic urgent care, and is it real medical care?
Yes. Today's problem always comes first. What's different is the conversation around it: Dr. Bita asks about patterns and contributing factors, explains what may be worth following up on, and helps you recover fully, not just get through the next few days.
Will I still get antibiotics or prescriptions if I need them?
Yes, when they are medically appropriate. A holistic approach doesn't mean avoiding medication. It means using antibiotics and prescriptions when they will actually help, and explaining when they won't, such as for most viral colds.
I keep getting sinus infections, UTIs or strep. Can urgent care help find out why?
That's one of the main reasons this clinic exists. We treat the current infection the same day, then look at your history and possible contributing factors. If infections keep returning, Dr. Bita can discuss optional further evaluation. Follow-up is always your choice, never an expectation.
Do you offer IV hydration in San Juan Capistrano?
Yes, when it's medically appropriate. IV fluids are ordered by a physician after an evaluation, for example for dehydration from a stomach bug, vomiting or heat. It's a medical treatment, not a menu item.
When should I go to urgent care instead of the emergency room?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, sudden weakness or confusion. For illness and minor injuries that need attention today, such as fever, flu, strep, UTI symptoms, sprains or cuts, our San Juan Capistrano clinic is the faster option for South Orange County.

Walk-ins are welcome, and same-day appointments are planned. Patients come from San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Ladera Ranch and Rancho Mission Viejo.

We are at The Ortega Cottage, 27442 Calle Arroyo, Suite B, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The clinic will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are a short drive from Dana Point, San Clemente, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch and Rancho Mission Viejo.
What insurance do you accept, and what does a visit cost without insurance?
We accept Medicare and PPO plans from Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Aetna and Cigna. HMO plans are not accepted, but anyone can be seen as a self-pay patient: the visit is $225, and any testing, procedures or treatment beyond the visit are explained and priced with you before they're done.
How is this clinic related to OC Functional Medical Center?
They are sister practices led by Dr. Bita and share the same building in San Juan Capistrano. Holistic Urgent Care OC (Suite B) handles same-day illness and injury care. OC Functional Medical Center (Suite A) offers deeper, ongoing functional medicine care for patients who want to explore root causes after their urgent concern is treated.
